We are excited to announce the formation of a new First-Gen Faculty/Staff book club under our First-Generation Faculty/Staff Initiative.

Our objective: Meet once a month to discuss scholarly (or other articles) on first-generation specific material. Please be ready to share and summarize the article you choose so that we can all learn together.

I can create a TEAMS channel so that we can all easily share these files in one place if that is preferred.

We will also be reading one book for the Spring semester: First Gen which is an award-winning memoir. We will discuss this book at the end of the semester in May.

You can buy the book now or wait until our first intro meeting where will be showing you how to loan the book from our library system.

You can use our library to search for scholarly articles or read any articles that you come across in Higher education online news sites such as Inside Higher Ed, Chronicle, etc.

Our first meeting will be getting to know each other and discussing the logistics of the book club. If you cannot make it to this meeting, please know you can join us anytime throughout the semester as your schedule allows.
