The First-Generation Faculty/Staff Initiative aims to elevate the visibility of MU faculty, staff, and academic leaders who were themselves first-generation college students. The First-Generation Faculty/Staff Initiative is a network of first-generation professionals committed to supporting first-generation students. They are active in their respective unit, promote their first-generation identities, and advocate for the first-generation community at University of Missouri. This is a collaboration project between the Office of First-Generation Student Initiatives and the MU Libraries.

Our goals:

• Greater transparency of first-generation faculty/staff across campus
• An established community of First-generation faculty and staff professionals who come together to network, learn, and grow with each other
• Create meaningful connection with other First-gen professionals who share similar identities
