Travel Near and Far

Artists' statement: "My art is all about travel and the memories you make when visiting a certain area. Each of my drawings is a prominent landmark or well-known building from a certain city or area. For example, the first series I did was of Australia. I created a drawing for each of Australia's six states and their two territories. So, for Queensland, I drew the Great Barrier Reef, and for New South Wales I drew the Sydney Opera House. I want my artwork to remind people of the areas they visited so that they can keep their travel memories alive. My artwork is what I like to call 'doodles,' but I'm told that this term doesn't do them justice. But I like the idea of calling my artwork "doodles" because I think they are more accessible that way. The simplistic drawings of the landmarks help you use your imagination and reach back into your memory bank. I think they inspire creativity."
